The Grand Ledge varsity baseball team cruised past Lansing Catholic 11-1 in a single 5-inning game on Monday afternoon at Gorman Field.
The Comets now set their sights on the Diamond Classic and a 5:00 p.m. showdown at Cooley Law School Stadium tonight (May 23rd) against Portland.
Against the Cougars the Comets plated one run in the first, two in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth and sealed the game with five in the fifth.
Jake Seling pitched all five innings, giving up just one run to move his season pitching record to 7-1.
Xavier Farr finished 3 for 3 at the dish with a double and an RBI. Braden Stoakes was also 3 for 3 with a double and two RBI while teammate Cal Johnston had two hits including a home run. Dominic Guzman added a pair of hits with a double and knocked in two runs.
Grand Ledge is now 27-6 overall on the season and the champions of the CAAC Blue.
