The Grand Ledge varsity girls lacrosse team put 15 goals on the scoreboard by seven different players in a 15-5 victory over Saginaw Heritage.
Chloe Kruger led the way with six goals while teammate Danyelle Hardy added foru goals. Nicole Glasgow, Maddie Stoddard, Keegan Rankin, Kennedy Aswegen and Karlee Peacock all had one goal each. Peacock, Hardy, and Rankin all ended the game with seven assists.
Olivia Guerra stopped 7 shots for a 58% save rate by Olivia Guerra. The home victory was the second this season for the Comets and improved their season record to 2-9.
“We started somewhat slow with a 6-2 score at the half, but poured it on in the second half with 9 goals and a tough defense,” coach Jeff Turner said. “The girls all played together as a team and took charge of the game.
“They have been progressing quickly as the season advances and I look forward to what the rest of the season has in store for us!”
The Comets are back in action on Wednesday, May 3 at home against Harper Creek at 6:00 before traveling to Waverly for a CAAC showdown on Thursday, May 4th.
