The Grand Ledge Varsity Baseball team improved to 14-4 on the season with a pair of 15-0 victories over Lansing Eastern in CAAC Blue action Tuesday at Gorman Field.
Jacob Seling got the win in the first game to improve his season mark on the mount to 5-0. Seling didn’t allow a hit and had six strikeouts in three innings of work.
The Comets jumped out quick against the Quakers in game one with four in the first and nine in the second, ending the game after scoring two more runs in the bottom of the third.
Wyatt rush was 2 for 3 with a double and a home run and four runs batted in. Cal Johnston had two hits including a double and knocked in three while Kaleb Burke pushed home three runs with a double and a sacrifice fly.
In the nightcap Peyton Wieber got his first win of the season, giving up just one hit in four innings. Again it was early offense for Grand Ledge, this time with five runs in the first, four in the second, four in the third and two more in the fourth.
Johnston was 4 for 4 with two doubles and six RBI while Braedon Stoakes was 2 for 2 with a double and two RBI.
The Comets are back in action on Thursday at Okemos for another CAAC Blue twinbill starting at 4:00 p.m.
