The Grand Ledge Comets followed up their invitational championship over the weekend with a double header sweep of Williamston on April 25th at home in a non-league twinbill.
The Lady Comets scored a 8-3 victory in the first game, with leading the way with a 4-4 performance at the plate with three RBI. Lindsey Goodman knocked in two runs with a home run while Emily Songer had two RBI with a double.
Nina Bennett got the job done on the mound for GL, going all seven innings allowing two earned runs with four strikeouts and zero walks to earn the win.
The Comets cruised in the nightcap to a 13-1 victory.
Bennett again got the pitching victory, tossing seven innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts and no walks.
Kahlei Ethridge knocked in four runs with three hits, including a home run and a double. Kenzie Trierweiler also had three hits to go with an RBI while Goodman, Rodriguez and Kaylee Dumond all had a pair of hits.
The Comets are back in action on Thursday at East Lansing High School for a 4:00 CAAC Blue Double Header.
