The Comets improved to 2-0 to stay atop the CAAC Blue Division when they defeated Lansing Eastern 8-0.

The Comets set the tone early as they scored inside the first minute of the game when Cassidy Pettinger (’19) slotted a pass in the box to Brittany Dale (’17).  Brittany’s left footed effort found the net and it set the tone for the rest of the match.  Cassidy’s involvement was to be a common theme throughout the game.
Cassidy scored soon after with the assist coming from Hannah deSilva (’18). Cassidy’s corner kick in the 8th minute was then scored by Eastern for an own goal.
Brittany scored her second goal of the game in the 11th minute with the assist going to Hannah deSilva.
Cassidy scored her second goal of the game in the 17th minute with the assist going to Avery Seling (’20).
The first half scoring was completed when Ashley Siwek (’18) lofted a shot over the Eastern goalkeeper with the assist going to Clair Davidson (’18).
In the second half, Cassidy smashed a long range effort off the post after receiving a supporting pass from Brittany.
The Comets ended the game when Hannah Spindler (’19) scored her first career Varsity goal from the penalty spot.
Jordan Skutar (’17) and Sadie Pettinger (’17) shared the shutout in goal.
