“It was nice to see the entire team play well and it was nice to see every player score in the game,” said Coach David Hernandez.

Two days later the Comets hit the road at Mason. The B team started out strong once again by jumping out to a 16-0 lead after the opening quarter. They continued their strong defensive play in the 2nd quarter while taking a 24-4 lead into halftime. After the break the Lady Comets came out and held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless in the third quareter. The final score was 40-7 with CeCelia Guild leading the team with 12 points and Adeline Schroeder adding in 6 points.

In the nightcap the Lady Comets were in tough battle with the host Bulldogs. The score was tied 8-8 after the first quarter before the defense turned it up in the 2nd quarter as the Lady Comets entered halftime with an 18-13 lead.

In the second half, it was a struggle for both teams to score because of the tough defense both teams were playing. Each squad battled in the second half with the game tied 31-31 after regulation. In overtime the Lady Comets held the Lady Bulldogs scoreless and ended up winning the tough battle 39-31.

“I couldn’t be any prouder of this team,” coach David Hernandez said. “They battled through adversity and kept fighting. We played as a team and everyone was there picking each other up.”
