The Comets had their first dual meet of the season at Haslett on Wednesday night, winning 134.525 to 132.60, despite having a smaller team than last year.
In the individual events, Senior Janelle Hall was 2nd on vault with an 8.825 and Senior Afton LaFrance was 3rd with an 8.625. LaFrance won uneven bars with an 8.85, Hall placed third on bars with a score of 8.025, and Sophomore Arianna Guerrero finished in 4th.
On balance beam LaFrance was 2nd with a 9.05 and Hall was 3rd with an 8.15. Sophomore Maggie Mullins tied for 5th. Floor exercise was a Comet sweep; LaFrance finished 1st with 9.45, Hall was 2nd with 9.30, and Guerrero in 3rd with an 8.95.
In the All Around, LaFrance was 1st with at 35.975 and Hall finished 3rd with a 34.30. Guerrero finished in 6th.
The Comets have their next competition at the East Lansing Invitational on Saturday January 7th. Events begin at 10am. On Wednesday, January 11th, they travel to St. Johns and that meet will have a 6:30 start time.
