The Grand Ledge Varsity Competitive Cheer took the floor by storm on Saturday December 10 at the annual Competitive Cheer Coaches Association of Michigan (CCCAM) Scholarship Meet. The Comets took the lead after the first round of competition by scoring 222.2 in Round 1 and never lost the lead.
The total score of 708.04 is another record for the program as they have never reached the 700 mark at their first competition. At the end of the meet, they took First in D1 outscoring second place by 18 points. The team also ended up First overall beating perennial powerhouses DeWitt and Mason by more than 50 and 40 points, respectively.
“This is an exceptional start to our season,” coach Sue Horak said. “We have high expectations of this team and have no doubt that these athletes will meet and/or exceed the challenges they will face this year!”
Great job Ladies!
