After missing out on the Gold Cup Final match, the Comets had one more game before they started MHSAA District play. The Comets hosted Okemos, who they had defeated in the regular season 1-0.

The Comets kept pressing and played a number of balls behind Okemos’ defense. Hudson Morgan’s header beat the Okemos goalkeeper but hit the crossbar before going out of bounds.
Immediately after halftime, Kyle Salisbury’s left footed effort was saved by the Okemos goalkeeper. However, the Chieftains answered when the Comet backline was pressed and turned the ball over. Andre Owczarzak finished his mini-breakaway to tie the game. With only 6 minutes remaining in the game, Okemos freshman Hondo Arana scored a volley to give them the lead.
