The Grand Ledge Varsity Competitive Cheer Team continues to dominate on the floor. They competed Saturday at the Mason invitational against 32 area teams, including state qualifying teams and the defending Division 4 State Champion, Breckenridge, and Runners up Michigan Center.
Cheer at Mason Invitational 2The Comets took the early lead after Round 1, broke the school record in Round 2 and then hit Round 3 to seal the deal. “At the end of the day, we broke the school record and surpassed our goal for the year. The final score was 770.8 which is only 27.2 points away from perfect!”
The team travels to Owosso on Wednesday at 6 p.m. to compete in the last of 3 League meets.  The Lady Comets have a great shot at winning their first ever CAAC Red League Title and are poised to put 3 more performances on the floor.
This is a bittersweet night for our seniors, Dakota Hart, Faith Kulang, Erica Oneil and Hailey Stroud, as they will be honored at the conclusion of this competition. Ladies, we thank you for your love and dedication to our program! You have made a difference!
The Lady Comets close out the regular portion of their season at the DeltaPlex on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 3 p.m. and move on to Districts on Feb 18, at 11 a.m. at Howell High School.
