The Varsity Girls Swimming team concludes their season at Oakland University this weekend as 6 girls will be competing at the MHSAA Division 1 Championship meet. The team has tallied the most successful season in school history as they won the prestigious Waverly Relays meet for the first time, won the Allegan Invitational and capped off the year by winning the CAAC Blue regular season & post season championships.
The team is led by senior captains Katie Thomas & Meg Pope. Thomas will be swimming the 200 & 500 Freestyle & Pope will swim the 100 Breaststroke for the Comets.
Junior Emma Cornell will be making her first appearance individually at the state meet as she competes in the 50 Freestyle. Sophomore school record holder Abby Ford will be competing in her specialty the 100 Breaststroke as well.
The freshman class is represented by Grace Weston & multiple school record holder Lola Mull. Weston will be swimming the 200 Individual Medley & 100 Breaststroke while Mull will be swimming the 200 & 500 Freestyle.
In relay action the team of Cornell, Ford, Mull & Thomas will look to better their own school record in the 200 Freestyle Relay. The team of Thomas, Cornell, Weston & Mull will look to do the same as they compete in the 400 Freestyle Relay.
The meet begins at noon on Friday & noon again on Saturday.
