The Grand Ledge JV Girls Lacrosse team closed out their season Wednesday night with a home game against the Grand Rapids Christian Eagles. The Lady Comets were looking to redeem their 12-7 loss one week earlier to Eagles.
Grand Rapids won the opening draw but the Comets were able to score first on a goal by Karlee Peacock. From there the Comets and Eagles traded goals several times until the Comet offense opened an 8-4 lead by the half. In the second half, good defensive play by Grand Ledge held the Eagles to just two goals to help the Comets pulled away for a 12-6 win. The victory improved JV Girls season record to 9-7-1.
Danika Fenska led Grand Ledge scoring four goals and also had two assists. Chloe Kruger and Peacock had two goals each and Ariel Marinez, Kassandra Parisian, Tailer Pentecost, and Hannah Schafer each had one. Olivia Guerra recorded six saves in goal.
