Tuesday’s game against Dewitt/St. Johns –

GLF earns the win at their first pre-regional game against DeWitt/St. Johns on Tuesday, March 3 at the Summit Ice Arena.   With a hard fought battle by both sides GLF beat DSJ in overtime with a score of 5-4. Leo Zea was defending the goal for GLF. Peyton Stiles added to his previous goal and assist by scoring the tying goal at the face-off with 3.6 seconds to go in regulation play. Alex Montrose added to his previous goal by scoring the game winner only 30 seconds into overtime with a shot from the blue line.   Additional contributors were: Trent Haigh – 1 goal, 1 assist; Camron Daniels – 1 Goal and Niko Montrose – 1 assist. The win moved GLF on to play Thursday, March 5, against the Capital Area Patriot’s.

Thursday’s game against the Capital Area Patriot’s –

In their 2nd pre-regional game, GLF beat the Capital Area Patriots 7-5. Leo Zea was again defending the goal for GLF. Niko Montrose had a hat trick and an assist and his brother Alex had a goal and two assists. GLF took the leads of 3-0 and 4-1 before the Patriots tied the game early in the third period. Erik Isaacson broke the tie with a power-play goal with 1:19 remaining in regulation play. Other contributors for goals were Trent Haigh – 1 goal; Bauer Cooper – 1 assist; Peyton Stiles – 1 goal, 1 assist; Collin Kasper – 2 assists. GLF will take on Jackson United at the Summit Ice Arena at 7pm this Saturday, March 7th.
