Water Polo Wins East Lansing Trojan Tournament

 The Grand Ledge-Waverly Boys’ Water Polo Team swept their four games at the Trojan Invitational held on September 20th and 21st at East Lansing High School.
The weekend began with a 14-6 victory over Sylvania followed by a 13-8 game against Troy.  Play continued Saturday with wins over Holt/East Lansing and Walled Lake by the scores of 15-5 and 18-11 respectively.
Goals scored were led by senior Owen Soulliere, sophomore Justin Maidlow, sophomore Connor Bennett and sophomore Joey Lashbrook.  The team celebrated by tossing Coach Jamie Fox and Assistant Coach Evan Illief into the pool.  The team has already recorded a program-record twelve wins and looks to continue their winning ways throughout the remainder of the season.  Two home games remain, the first will be October 8th with varsity playing at 6:00 following by the JV match at 7:00.  The final home match of the season is on October 15th at 6:30 and 7:30.  Both games will be played at the Grand Ledge High School pool.
