The Grand Blanc Bobcats travelled to Grand Ledge on Thursday night to play the Comets and it was the visitors who jumped out to a quick start. The Bobcats roared to an early 4-0 lead in the first period, using their defensive pressure to create offense.  The Comets were able to turn up the defensive effort in the second period as well holding the Bobcats to only one goal.  However, they were unable to get the offense going until the third period.  They scored two goals in the third period but lacked the defensive pressure that was applied during the second period, as Grand Blanc scored six goals. The Comets were never able to rally in the fourth period despite several quality offensive opportunities, falling 13-3.  Greg DeWitt scored two goals, and Tommy Sereseroz scored one goal for the Comets. The Comets finish their district-seeding games for the season with a 1-2 record in the district.  This will place them against Ann Arbor Huron next friday in their district game.
The junior varsity water polo team also struggled with the defensive pressure from Grand Blanc.  The Bobcats were able to take advantage of several Comet turnovers, defeating the Comets 10-3.  Connor Bennett, Joey Lashbrook, and Henry Huelskamp all scored for the Comets.
